RadiStopTM Radial Compression System
Purpose

For hemostasis management of the radial artery. Keeps wrist flexed for easy puncture. During compression, facilitates sustained venous flow and supports the hand in a flexed position. Convenient for the operator and comfortable for the patient.RadiStopTM radial compression system provides comfortable and efficient mechanical compression of the radial artery following catheterization. The support plate spreads pressure over a large area on the back of the hand/wrist/lower arm. It is therefore very comfortable which avoids the need to constantly interrupt the compression. Because the compression pad applies pressure selectively to the radial artery, hemostasis is achieved without compromising color, temperature or feeling in the hand. The Velcro straps allow easy adjustment of the position of the pad and the amount of pressure applied. The small size of the compression pad makes it possible to see more of the wrist and  to feel for a radial pulse during compression.
The support plate supports the hand in a flexed position and keeps it immobilized.  The slightly flexed support plate may also be utilized to facilitate puncture.

The support plate supports the hand in a flexed position and keeps it immobilized.  The slightly flexed support plate may also be utilized to facilitate puncture.

Components:
One unit consists of a styrofoam support plate, Velcro straps and a sterile compression pad.

Advantages:   Easy to use. Local pressure. No venous congestion. Patent ulnar artery.  Access to palpate radial pulse.  Comfortable.
