Access of an angulated radial artery
Interventional cardiologist Dr. Luigi Piatti
Center Cath. lab. Ospedale "A. Manzoni", Lecco, Italy
Problem Due to an extremely angulated radial artery towards the omeral, I could not pass our common 0.035" teflonated wire, nor a hydrophilic Terumo wire (both wires kept going to the ulnar artery).

Strategy The kinking was finally overcome by means of a 0.014" coronary wire.
Procedure The radial artery was straightened and the procedure was completed transradially.
