| Access of an angulated radial artery | |
| Interventional cardiologist | Dr. Luigi Piatti |
| Center | Cath. lab. Ospedale "A. Manzoni", Lecco, Italy |
| Problem | Due to an extremely angulated radial artery
towards the omeral, I could not pass our common 0.035" teflonated wire, nor a
hydrophilic Terumo wire (both wires kept going to the ulnar artery). |
| Strategy | The kinking was finally overcome by means of a 0.014" coronary wire. |
| Procedure | The radial artery was straightened and the procedure was completed transradially. |
